FAQ's & Tips

When to book your wedding hair? As soon as possible, I get booked up a year in advance for some dates. 2008 is already getting booked up for May, June, July, August and September.

What happens on the wedding day? Everyone who is having there hair done will need to wear a zip or button top. All blowdrys, will need to wash hair and leave damp ready for styling. Hair up - needs to be dry and clean. Washed hair day before or the morning of the wedding is fine. All products and equipment is provided by me.

What do I need for the hair trial? Pictures, pictures and more pictures. Keep any cut outs of hair styles you like, bring a picture of your wedding dress, veil, tiara etc, if you have the smaller items take them with you. The more you bring the better idea you give to the stylist on the type of wedding and the look you need and want.

How many people can have there hair done? Depending on the time of the wedding, the max is 8 people.

A few things to think about....

Face Shape - The most important factor to determine the style you go far and the style that looks good. Long Faces - suit added width to the sides, don't build an updo too high, low updo's suit the best, Side buns with wispy curls floating around it look great and the latest look too. Round faces - height is important on an updo, barrel curls or cascading curls look great up or down. Heart shaped - keeping the hair chin length helps, updo's would need softness and width to frame the face, hair down would suit soft curls and even half up with a small back design.

Tiara and Veil - Do you plan to wear both, either or none? Tiaras come in all shapes and sizes and are not always the best hair accessory depending on the hair style, think about decorative combs and pins - very versatile. Veils - do you want it for show or do you plan to have the two layers to use when arriving at ceremony? Thought about flowers in the hair - wedding hair and flowers look amazing and can be a very cost effective option.

Wedding dress - Strapless - hair down or up, both looks great. Halter necks require less hair to be on the shoulders, updo's are the best option if you have long hair. Long sleeved, winter dresses - high neck dress - updo's, low neck line - hair up or down will look great.

How do you usually wear you hair - Not that this dictates what you have done, but remember if no one is used to you wearing you hair up including yourself, is this the best option for you? If you wear your hair down, do you play with it all the time? Would the weather change you hair throughout the day if it was left down? Remember - updo's look the same day and night, whatever the weather!

Don't Forget about the bridal party - Brides will always outshine everyone (quite rightly so) but what about your mum, future mother in law, bridesmaids hair style?
